Senior Video Producer & Head of Production

I create powerful documentary-led films that move people, shape narratives, and create real-world impact.

I work with NGOs, public institutions, and purpose-driven brands to tell meaningful stories. clearly, creatively, and with intent.

I’m Liam Manning, a video producer and documentary-driven storyteller with 10+ years of professional experience across broadcast, corporate, and commercial environments. Based in Switzerland for the last decade, I’ve worked with international brands and organisations to turn complex topics into clear, human stories that people actually care about.

With a background in History & Politics, I specialise in digging deep, understanding context, and shaping messages that resonate — whether the goal is to educate, persuade, or inspire.

My approach is simple and direct:
clarity, emotion, and strategy.
I take ownership of the full process — from concept and narrative development to directing, shooting, editing, and delivering content that aligns with brand goals.

What I do

I produce high-impact video for brands and organisations that want more than visuals — they want meaning.

  • Corporate & B2B films – transforming technical or abstract subjects into stories people remember
  • Documentaries & character-driven narratives – real people, real stakes, real emotion
  • Brand storytelling & social content – strategic video that builds trust and awareness
  • Reportage & interviews – capturing authenticity with clarity and pace
  • Travel & location-based filmmaking – turning places into experiences, not postcards

Every project I take on has one goal in common:
Create work that feels human and delivers impact.

How I work

I lead projects with a structured, proactive approach:

  • Define the core message — what must the audience feel, understand, or do?
  • Shape a narrative that connects — emotional hook + strategic clarity
  • Direct with purpose — guiding people on and off camera, adapting quickly, solving problems fast
  • Edit for story — pace, tone, structure, and branded consistency
  • Deliver results — content optimised for platforms, audiences, and business objective

Whether I’m interviewing a CEO, filming in a factory, or shooting on the street, I bring a calm presence, a clear plan, and a storyteller’s instinct for what actually matters.

Project Overview:

This is a documentary-style video created in collaboration with an NGO and focused on real human stories, social impact.
The aim was to communicate the organisation’s mission through authentic storytelling, avoiding promotional language and prioritising trust, sensitivity and clarity. This is real people helping real people and we see here what grassroots charity work can accomplish.

This project required a careful balance between emotional truth and responsible representation.

My Role:

I was responsible for the full video production process, including:

  • Concept development and narrative approach
  • On-location filming and interviews
  • Editorial direction and documentary-style editing
  • Final delivery optimised for digital platforms and outreach

I worked closely with stakeholders to ensure the story was told accurately, respectfully and in line with the organisation’s values.

Challenges:

Working with an NGO environment presented specific challenges:

  • Filming and reacting as the story unfolded in real time
  • Building trust quickly with participants and contributors
  • Working within tight timelines and limited resources
  • Ensuring authenticity without oversimplifying complex issues

The priority was always to let the story lead, rather than forcing a message.

Approach:

The film was approached as a short-form documentary, not a promotional video.

Key principles:

  • Natural, interview-led storytelling
  • Minimal intrusion during filming
  • Clean, restrained editing that supports the narrative
  • A tone that feels human, honest and grounded

The focus was on real voices, not scripted messaging and showing the real work that goes on to make these NGO's effective.

Outcome:

The final film gave the organisation a powerful, versatile piece of content that could be used for:

  • Awareness and outreach
  • Presentations and stakeholder communication
  • Online platforms and social media

Most importantly, it communicated the organisation’s work in a way that felt genuine and respectful, strengthening trust with its audience.

Why This Matters:

This project reflects my experience working with:

  • NGOs and non-profits
  • Documentary-style storytelling
  • Projects where credibility and trust are essential

If your organisation needs video content that prioritises authenticity over hype, this is the kind of work I specialise in.
